The 2008 versions of Child Control and User Control will be available toward the end of January. Instead of completely new applications, this year's changes concentrate on improvements in specific areas. We have relied on some of your suggestions to tailor both of these products more closely to your needs. For example, we have substantially improved our web filter, and Child Control has been further developed in cooperation with federal agencies resonsible for regulating content that endangers children. We have also introduced new settings for time limits in response to our customers’ wishes.

Protect against MP3 downloads and file sharing
There are increasing reports of legal actions taken to fight downloading of MP3’s. The latest version lets you block today’s latest file sharing programs with a single click.

Block approximately one million objectionable websites
We group about one million undesirable sites into nine categories, and make the updated list available each day.

More control over programs
Decide whether a program should be allowed, blocked, or restricted by time. Use either the name of the .exe file or the application to designate these. You can now also restrict the use of certain programs at specific times—for example, no chat programs after 8:30 p.m.

All serial numbers for the 2007 versions will remain the same for the 2008 versions. You may upgrade to the current version at any time on our download page. You will retain all of your current settings. Customers using previous versions, such as 2005 and 2006, can obtain inexpensive upgrades to the current version on our upgrade page.

Child Control is compatible with all versions of Microsoft’s new Vista operating system (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate). Child Control also runs on all previous versions, including XP, Windows 2000, and even ME, 98 and 95.

Additional enhancements
Improved security: based on past attempts to circumvent Child Control, we have built in new measures to reinforce it. The program even stands up to users with Administrator rights.
Added flexibility for setting blocked times: Precise indications: You are no longer limited to specifying times by the full hour, but can now set times down to the minute—for example, you can start blocking at 8:15 rather than 8 o’clock.
Improved access through networks: It now becomes a simple matter to manage other PC’s on your network and to set limits for them. No need to set up complicated permissions or file properties.
Easier use of email logs: Now, logs can be sent to you directly from our mail server. No need for you to deal with complicated settings for sending emails.
Additional logging functions: See the time spent on specific websites, Top 10 programs and URL’s. Take direct control over undesirable applications and sites.
